Scripts and Scribbles

Scripts is a fun and friendly play reading group exploring a range of different texts. You’ll be able to read for characters with the other participants, or just sit and listen.

This group runs fortnightly on Wednesdays from 11am-1pm. The next term starts on Wednesday 9 November.

Scribbles is our writing group for everyone, including complete beginners. During our sessions, the group will be guided by a professional playwright, and work on different aspects of playwriting including: character, structure, dialogue, generating ideas, and developing a writing practice.

You'll work towards writing your own short pieces, which are performed with professional actors in our Studio, at the end of our summer term.

This group runs fortnightly on Wednesdays from 11am-1pm. The next term starts on Wednesday 2 November.

Both courses cost £3 per session, or £5 for both.

Theatre Club comes at no extra cost to your ticket price.

Theatre Club was established in 2019 as part of the Local Lives project delivered in partnership with Regenda Homes

Community Steering Group

We're looking for theatre goers and participants, artists and people interested in questioning our work to join us as we embark on a new, interesting phase in the Coliseum's development.

Whilst looking to continually evaluate and evolve our practices as an organisation, we are also in the process of planning a new theatre space in Oldham and have some big questions.

We're looking for a group of 12 people, who live or work in Oldham, to get together and consider themes relating to our programmes, the theatre building, what the theatre means/could mean to you and how we can make our work more inclusive and accessible.
